Calling all Songwriters, Singers, DJs, Music Producers and Artist Managers based in Zimbabwe!
Are you ready to take your music career to the next level? Apply for the Music Connects Africa ZW programme (formerly Scripts and Bars), a music incubator and accelerator programme designed to accelerate your music career and business.
Programme includes:
→ Access to financial investment (Grants)
→ Extensive music business masterclasses covering music distribution, marketing, publishing, copyrights & contracts, live music and more
→ Songwriting and recording camp led by established music industry experts in Africa and Uk
→ Mentorship & coaching by industry experts
→ Showcasing and networking opportunities
Who should apply?
→ Applicants aged 18+ based in Zimbabwe
→ Independent Artists not signed to a record label
→ Talent Managers with at least 1 music artist under their management
→ Must have at least 2 years’ experience with a proven track record of professionally released music online or performing live
→ young people, women and those from underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply
Commitment/ Expectations:
Please only apply if you are committed to developing your music career as a priority
Must be able to attend all workshops and events in person and online

CONTENT CREATION
We are passionate about telling authentic African stories. From animation , blogs, film & video, graphic novels, music, podcasts, and more our multimedia brands produce and publish content that engages, entertains and inspires audiences across websites, mobile apps, social media, TV and in person events.
We build communities of fans around our content and leverage these audiences to offer bespoke advertising and brand engagement opportunities to relevant brands and advertisers . Our MultiMedia Brands
Kay Media Africa’s film prodcution studio focused on producing film ,TV and web video content. Our content includes original films ,TV/web shows, TV Commercials, branded videos and documentaries. We are fully equipped with Black Magic cameras and a Davinci resolve editing suite.
A creative hub and multimedia studio working with African digital artists. Comexposed produces and publishes comic books and animation as well as organises pop culture events. We provide creative services to brands, corporates, studios and development organisations that require animation and digital design services.
Faith Based media and entertainment (E&M) brand that produces, curates, and publishes contemporary Christian and inspirational content with an African viewpoint, reaching audiences across multiple media platforms. Content includes blogs, podcasts, web videos and music.
Kay Media Africa’s music services, talent management and creative agency connecting creative talent, brands and audiences to unlock value. Primarily working with music artists and digital creators, we facilitate collaboration with brands to communicate and deliver value to target audiences.

We utilise digital technology to create 2D illustrations, digital paintings, 3D Models , character animation, motion graphics and VFX (Visual Effects) for a variety of multimedia use cases including animated videos, graphic novels and interactive media (websites, apps, video games)
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Delivering media campaigns or creative arts projects requires the right strategy and execution to achieve desired results. Dealing with and coordinating multiple parties including creatives, production teams and media platforms can be challenging. We offer bespoke project management services to help clients coordinate planning, production and distribution to deliver their projects. Whether its a marketing campaign, event or an arts and culture project such as a film, exhibition, festival or incubation programme, we ensure everything comes together to achieve your desired outcomes.

Scripts & Bars
Since January 2022, Kay Media and Reprezent (UK) have collaborated to codesign and deliver Scripts and Bars, a creative incubation and accelerator program for music and literature creatives in Zimbabwe and UK. Scripts and Bars is funded by British Council and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Through the programme, Kay Media and Reprezent have successfully delivered workshops, digital content collaborative projects and residencies , networking and knowledge sharing events as well as radio broadcasts that have benefited over 150 creatives to date from Zimbabwe and the UK. The Scripts and Bars programme has enhanced the business and digital skills of participating creatives, creating pathways for success as well as provided access to markets and new audiences thereby improving livelihoods.
Ephemeral Tales
Ephemeral Tales- The Tale of Stavo is a nail-biting, animated musical miniseries which draws the talents of a new generation of contemporary musicians and upcoming animators. The 4-part series produced in Zimbabwe by young artists under the guidance of the industry’s renowned animation and music veterans, dives headfirst into social themes, exploring issues affecting young people in ways that most have shied away from. Ephemeral tales was produced by Kay Media Africa and the visionary minds behind Comexposed. The project was funded through the Sound Connects Fund delivered by Music in Africa Foundation and funded by the Goethe institute, ACP-EU and Siemens
